The Sydney Lyric Theatre stands as Australia's most groundbreaking and innovative theatre. Located in Sydney, New South Wales, it is part of The Star complex and since its opening in 1997, it has had the pleasure of hosting legendary international and local artists, performers, and productions. We can attest to this since its acquisition by Foundation Theatres in 2011, as it has since become a mainstay of the NSW musical theatre scene. As such, the Sydney Lyric has hosted World Premieres such as Dream Lover and Strictly Ballroom the Musical, as well as Australian Premieres like 'Matilda the Musical', 'Beautiful:The Carole King Musical', and 'Legally Blonde the Musical'.
Its auditorium has undergone a valuable renovation that allows for an overall better experience, enhancing the intimacy and connection between the stage and the audience. Therefore, the Sydney Lyric has managed to maintain runs of smash hit musicals such as 'The Book of Mormon', 'Grease', 'Annie', 'Saturday Night Fever', and 'Hamilton'.
Able to fit from 1350 to 2000 seats thanks to its different seating configurations, the Sydney Lyric is constantly trying to improve in order to provide its audience the best theatre experience for any of the many performances that they offer.

Seating Plan
The 2018 renovation allows for 4 seating configurations, so that there can be 1350, 1500, 1750 or 2000 seats. This novel flexibility of space grants producers the ability to control inventory and yield in 60 seconds, and without any technical reconfiguration as the walls are acoustically transparent.
Stalls
As for the actual seating disposition, the seating in the stalls is placed on the ground level, aligned with the stage. Towards the back, there's a gentle slope, so the audience will be at eye level with the Stage at around Row F-G. The front rows offer a close-up experience, although we must note that the configuration may vary from show to show.
* For accessibility reasons, please note that there is a small step at the beginning of Stalls Row Q.
Dress Circle
Dress Circle seating is placed 1 level above the stage, so the front row of the Dress Circle comes in line with Row L in the Stalls.
Grand Circle
The Grand Circle is the top level, located 2 levels above the stage with is a safety rail in the front row that might interfere with the view for some.
Please note that the Grand Circle Box Seats have an obstructed view, and that the front row of the Grand Circle comes in line with Row D in the Dress Circle.
Hearing Loop
The Hearing Loop at the Sydney Lyric is available in Stalls seating only. For a comfortable experience, you should adjust their hearing aids to "T" for reception. Also, the theatre can provide you with an “Intelligent DSP RF Receiver (150MHZ)” which you can wear around your neck for the duration of the performance.
