BoyWithUke is a Korean-American singer-songwriter whose alternative pop style blends ukulele-driven melodies with a modern production.
BoyWithUke, born Charley Yang, has quickly captivated audiences since 2021, when he released his debut album Melatonin Dreams. His sound continued to evolve and led to collaborations with artists such as Blackbear on the track IDGAF.
This musical evolution can also be seen within his lyrics, which shift towards themes of realization and positivity, contrasting with the darker tones of his earlier work. Also, his face remained a secret for years while wearing a mask, but shortly after the release of his album Lucid Dreams (2023), he unveiled his face for the first time in the music video for Homesick.
BoyWithUke has also stated before how he produced all his music using his iPad, resulting in an innovative use of the ukelele with modern production techniques. This way, he continues to create a unique alternative pop music that resonates with his audience.
