The Museum of Play and Art (MoPA) poses a multitude of creative opportunities for children to learn about play and creativity on another level.
Located in Melbourne's vibrant Sandringham suburb, the MoPA was founded as a beacon of imagination where families experience how play and art can help to paint a brighter future. This was inspired after the museum's founders, Billie Georgieff and Tom Mahon, realised how little amount of spaces are dedicated around the world to immerse kids in art and creativity.
With this idea in mind, the MoPA is designed to foster play-based learning and creative exploration through different rooms. The Blue Block Room, for example, is designed to encourage young minds to experiment with engineering concepts through collaborative building activities.
Then, the Star Studio is a space where children can enhance their creative expression as they immerse themselves in performances through a multitude of different costumes. The Art Wall is the ultimate space for artistic minds to run free and interact with unique exhibits. Also, the Zoom Room is perfect for those whose curiosity reaches no limits when it comes to motion and physics as they have the opportunity to design tracks and race cars while learning.
