Monsieur Periné is a Colombian band that blends swing, jazz, and traditional Latin rhythms like cumbia, bolero and bossa nova into their own style.
Formed in 2007, Monsieur Periné has evolved throughout the years, experimenting more and growing as artists. Catalina García (vocals), Santiago Prieto (strings and production), and Nicolás Junca (guitar) are in charge of bringing these Latin melodies to the next level, with an eclectic and whimsical sound.
Nuestra Canción (2015) was their breakout hit, featured in their second album Caja de Música, earning international acclaim and a Latin Grammy. Their ethereal sound is also found in songs like Bailar Contigo (2015) or Encanto Tropical (2018), with lyrics that reference an ode to love, cultural identity, and resilience.
Having been Grammy–nominated, Monsieur Periné’s name is inspired by their love for French gypsy jazz, showcasing their global influences as truly international music artists. Their artistry is often infused by feel-good vibes, spreading a message of unity, as well as rare poetic imagery and storytelling.
