Animals

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary cares for countless incredible creatures and you can meet them up close through their experiences and encounters. Here are some of the park’s most iconic animals:

Koalas

These cuddly mammals are a must-see whilst visiting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to over 50 of these friendly creatures. Koalas need up to 20 hours of sleep per day due to their eucalyptus leaves diet, so you may catch them having a snooze!

Kangaroos & Wallabies

Undoubtedly two of Australia’s most iconic creatures, Kangaroos and Wallabies are roaming around the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Discover majestic kangaroos bouncing around on the red dirt landscape and meet friendly wallabies in the Wallaby encounter enclosure!

Crocodiles

You’ve seen them in the movies - but have you ever met a croc up close? At Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, you can get close to the sanctuary’s resident Saltwater Crocodile, Boss Hogg who reaches nearly 5 meters in length and 800 kilograms!

Tasmanian Devils

Unlike the famous cartoon, Tasmanian devils are much more shy creatures in real life and are known for scavenging dead animals instead of killing their own prey. As part of a conservation project, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has bred 9 tasmanian devils.

Birds

Excellent There are soo many cute animals here. I particularly loved the koala bears which they really care for after theyve been in hospital. The poor little buggers.
