Steeped in cultural history, Phillip Island Nature Park was first occupied by Aboringal people and was later inhabited by Europeans from the 1700s. However, Phillip Island Nature Parks still respects Aboriginal culture and heritage as it is an important part of the Island’s history.

Antarctic Journey

A fully immersive and multimedia experience, the Antarctic Journey transports you to the wonderful, snowy world of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica where you can ‘Feel the Freeze’ on entering the Antarctic Chill Zone.  

Penguin Parade

Embark on an icy journey where you can see wild penguins parade on a fascinating, guided tour. Only 90 minutes from Melbourne, the penguin parade is easily accessible from mainland Australia.

Phillip Island Nature Parks includes different islands which are all accessible by public transport and by car. Here are the addresses of the different islands:

  • Penguin Parade: 1019 Ventnor Rd, Summerlands, Victoria 3922.
  • Koala Conservation Reserve: 1810 Phillip Island Road, Phillip Island, Victoria 3923.
  • Churchill Island: 246 Samuel Amess Drive, Churchill Island, Newhaven 3925.
  • Wild Ocean EcoBoat Tours: 11/13 The Esplanade, Cowes 3922.
  • Nobbies Centre: 1320 Ventnor Road, Summerlands Victoria, 3922.

How to get There:

  • Car: you can access Phillip Island easily from Melbourne, as it is only 90-120 minutes away. If you are going to Penguin Parade, then you can use the free car parking which is on site.
  • Bus: there are not many bus services on Philip Island, but you can take the bus to Cowes from Southern Cross Station. 
  • Taxi: you can take a taxi to to arrange transfers to Philip Island, just call on 03 5952 2200

How do I get to Philip Island Nature Reserve?

If you are travelling by car, then you can easily access Philip Island Nature Reserve as it is only 90-120 minutes from Melbourne. There are not many public transport services, but you can take the bus to Cowes from Southern Cross Station. There is also a taxi service from Philip Island.  

Do I need to book my tickets?

If you are taking one of the Eco Boat tours or going on a Penguin Parade, then you need to book in advance. We recommended that you book in advance. 

Is the Penguin Parade suitable for children?

Yes, the Penguin Parade is great for all ages. There are children’s tickets available for 4-15 and free tickets available for children under 4.

Excellent Philip Island is so beautiful. Not only is the scenery like something out off a fairytale, but you can see SUCH amazing wildlife. NEver seen penguins like that in the wild!

Excellent Undoubtedly some of the most beautiful islands in Australia. You feel like youre on another planet. The wildlife is extraordinary. Saw some short-tailed shearwaters, specific gulls and of course the little penguins! Recommend to anyone.

Excellent Philip Nature Parks is 100% worth the journey. They are are so so beautiful and you can see some really amazing animals. We spent three days doing the different tours and it was so worth it.
