About

Inspired by the legacy of David Fleay, the Australian scientist and biologist who pioneered the captive breeding of endangered species, Burleigh Heads Wildlife Park is set by beautiful surroundings and offer the unique chance to discover Australia’s most iconic and famous wildlife whilst they reside in a breathtaking, natural setting that is close to their natural habitat.

Established in 1952 by David Fleay himself, the park is dedicated to protecting endangered species and contributing to conservation efforts. Some animals you can meet are greater bibilies, crocodiles, platypus and even one species that was thought to be extinct for over 30 years, the shy bridled nailtail wallaby. During your visit, you will stroll through the tranquil surroundings to experience some of Queensland’s natural habitats and meet some of Australia’s unique and threatened species. The park does not stop there, as it also offers different animal encounters and presentations like the kangaroo feeding, a ranger talk about cassowaries, a nocturnal house tour and the long-running Fleay’s in Flight bird show.

An educational and conservational wildlife park, David Fleay is an extraordinary experience for any wildlife lovers out there!
