Located in the idyllic, lush landscapes of the Kuranda Rainforest, Bird World Kuranda is a wonderful place to experience awe-inspiring wildlife and landscapes alike. As the largest collection of free-flying birds in Australia, Birdworld Kuranda boasts over 350 birds from 60 different species- making it the ideal place to visit for bird lovers! And that is not all, because the park also offers the opportunity to get up-close with the animals, allowing you to take some amazing photos or even feeding them!
Native to the rainforests of Cape York Peninsula, the Eclectus Parrot is known for its bright green and red feathers. Notably, the female parrots are recognisable by their vibrant red feathers!
Recognisable by their pale pink feathers and greyish wings, Galahs live all over Australia apart from the desert and dense forests. They feed off a variety of seeds, grains, fruits, nuts, berries, grasses, roots and many more!
Living in the tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland, Southern Cassowaries are an endangered species and known as the heaviest, flightless bird in Australia. You can spot them by their blue and red neck!
Usually found deep in the rain forest, the secondary growth forest, the forest edge or the eucalypt woodland, Fig Parrots are native Australian birds and eat a range of figs, berries, seeds, nectar as well as insects.
Originally from the northern,dry parts of the continent, the black Cockatoo can be found in the Eucalyptus woodlands and riverside trees. However, you can find them in a range of habitats such as subtropical rain forests.
Living in east-coastal Queensland, these beautiful birds can be found in a range of habitats including rainforests, rainforest margins, mangroves, wooded stream margins as well as isolated figs.

You can easily self-drive through the Kuranda rainforest or you can take the scenic railway or the skyrail rainforest cableway.
