An exquisite, green lush paradise, the award-winning Paronella Park not only boasts a captivating castle, but also offers a range of unique features such as a 1930’s hydro-electric generator, wildlife and fish feeding as well as the breath-taking tropical gardens next to incredible architecture!

Built in the 1930s by Jose Paronella from Catalonia, Paronella Park is a heritage-listed tourist attraction. Located in Mena Creek, Queensland, Paronella Park is 120 kilometres South of Cairns, making it easy to reach and it is often included in coach tour!

Day Experiences

From the incredible architecture to the 1930s hydro-electric generator, you can discover a variety of experiences which the park has to offer. If you are keen to learn all about the park in more depth, then why not enjoy a fascinating tour. You can either purchase a general admission ticket or enjoy the Mamu Tropical Skywalk admissions which has elevated walkways, a cantilever and an observation tower.

Opening hours

The Paronella Park is open every day from 9:00am to 7:30pm.

Please note that the Paronella Park is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

How to get there

The Paronella Park address is: 1671 Innisfail Japoon Rd, Mena Creek QLD 4871, Australia

• Car: if you are driving from Cairns, then it is about 120km from the park. Head to Mena Creek along the Bruce Highway. If you are coming from Townsville, then this is about 280km away and you can turn off the Bruce Highway at Silkwood and then go along the Canecutter Way.  
• Coach: if you are on a coach tour, you can travel with one of the several companies which leaves from Cairns each day.

If you are looking for a bite to eat, then why not enjoy a meal on the Cafe On the Deck which serves a range of fresh food. There are also places to eat in Innisfail.
