Seals and Relatives

Born on the Sealife Sunshine Coast in 1997, playful Teikyo the female Australian Sea Lion is part of the endangered Australian Sea Lion program and a fascinating creature to experience up close and personal!  

Sharks

Meet Pallas the Grey Nurse Shark, Grey Reef Sharks and Wobbegong Sharks deep in the waters of the Sea Life Sunshine Coast. Learn all about these magnificent, deadly creatures who are truly fascinating!  

Turtles

Peacefully swimming through the waters of the Sea Life, are six of the seven species of turtles which are found in Australia. Given that turtle rehabilitation is at the centre of Sea Life Sunshine Coast’s work, Turtles are some of the most important creatures the aquarium has to offer!

Sea Horses and Relatives

At Sea Life, you can discover a world of sensational sea horses and their relatives. Meet the Weedy Sea Dragon; known as the ‘masters of disguise’, these curious creatures are fish related to the sea horse. Don’t forget the Pot Bellied Seahorse, one of the world’s biggest seahorses, reaching up to 35cm in length!

Coral reefs are vibrant ecosystems that can be found worldwide although many are in danger of destruction. Corals are actually animals and not plants or rocks, and there are both hard and soft types of coral that live in colonies, as well as being a significant source of food for many fish species.

How to get there

The Sea Life Sunshine Coast is located at Parkyn Parade, MOOLOOLABA QLD 4557. You can get there by:

  • Car: if you are travelling by car from Brisbane, then follow the Bruce Highway north and then take an exit after the Ettamogah Pub. You can then follow the signs to Moolooba. If you are travelling from Gympie then follow the Bruce Highway south and then take the Maroochydore exit. Then follow the signs onto the Sunshine Motorway. 
  • Parking: there is a lot of parking available close to the Sea Life Sunshine Coast.  
  • Bus: you can take the sunbus, a regular bus service which runs from Noosa to Caloundra.  
  • Train: Queensland Rail Citytrain, which operates between the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast stations at Landsborough and Nambour.  
  • Coach: the Greyhound Australia coaches are a practical and easy way to travel to Sea Life Australia.

Access

There are six accessible parking spaces which are available at the Sea Life Sunshine Coast, but availability might be restricted.  

The whole aquarium is fully wheelchair accessible; there are ramps connecting each level and there is a medical assistance button. 

You can also borrow wheelchairs but please note that they are on a first come, first served basis. 

There is a fully accessible toilet at the Sea Life Sunshine Coast.  

Food and Drink

The Aqua Cafe has a range of food and drink options, including Sandwiches and Wraps, Hot Food and Hot Pastries.  

Aquarium Gift Shop
