Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas is divided into five varied environments such as Wetlands, Rainforest, Savannah, Nocturnal and Woodlands, offering a range of interactive experience with a range of fascinating iconic Australian creatures including koalas, wallabies, crocodiles and many more!

Dedicated to conservation efforts, Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas is an eco certified wildlife sanctuary which is also home to an on-site care centre for the Tropical Animal Rehabilitation Centre.

Birds

Discover a world of colourful, unique birds at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas including species such as cockatoos, cassowaries, pigeons, finches, parrots, bush stone-curlews, ducks and geese!

Kangaroos, Wallabies, Pademelons and Bettongs

Boasting one of Queensland’s largest populations of macropods (which means big foot), Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas is the place to visit if you love kangaroos, wallabies, pademelons and bettongs. Learn all about an array of species at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas!

Koalas

Undoubtedly one of Australia’s most iconic creatures, koala bears are sleepy, cute and sleep up to 20 hours a day! At Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, you can catch them nestled in the tree and the branches!

Striped Possum

With their distinctive bold, black-like pattern, striped possums are easy to spot and are extremely adorable! Meet and greet them in the Nocturnal Habitat section of the nature park.

Estuarine Crocodiles

Commonly known as Saltwater Crocodiles, these creatures are Australia’s largest predators and you would not want to cross one in the wild! Discover them at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas where you can meet them in a safe environment!

Eastern Water Dragon

Found across along the east coast of Australia, Eastern Water Crocodiles are considered one of Australia’s most primitive dragon species with fossil records that date back to over 20 million years.

Pythons

Meet a range of python species at Port Douglas including Jungle Carpet, Coastal Carpet, Black-headed snakes. Known for their deadly restricting abilities and ability to eat large prey, they’re not venomous!
