Pandas and Friend

Date Specific Tickets / One Visit Pass - Adelaide Zoo

Date Specific tickets include: a one day entry to visit the home to over 2500 animals and 250 species, as well as Free Keeper Presentations. 

One Visit Pass include the sme as Date Specific tickets, but you can get access to the Adelaide Zoo any day of the year that you prefer, and it is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

To get your second visit up to 50% off, the Two Visit Pass offers a visit to the Adelaide Zoo or another to the Monarto Safari Park. It is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase.

Opening Hours

Adelaide Zoo opens every day from 9:30am to 5pm, including Christmas and all public holidays.

Plase note that each are of the zoo has its own schedule:

  • Panda Habitat: 9.45am – 4.45pm.
  • Zoo Shop: 9.30am – 5pm
  • Panda Shop: 11am-3pm (11am-4pm during school holidays and on weekends).
  • Reptile House: 10am – 4.30pm (4:45pm weekends and public holidays).
  • Nocturnal House: 10am – 4.30pm (4.45pm weekends and public holidays).
  • Walk-through Rainforest & Wetlands Aviary: 9:30am – 4.30pm (4.45pm weekends and public holidays).
  • Envirodome: 10am – 4.30pm (4.45pm weekends and public holidays).

How to get there

The Adelaide Zoo is located at Frome Rd, Adelaide SA 5000. You can get there by:

  • Car: if you are travelling to Adelaide Zoo, then you can park at Adelaide Zoo’s metered parking which is available on Plane Tree Drive, War Memorial Drive and Frome Road. There is no parking available on the grounds of the zoo itself, and all parking is owned by Adelaide Council or Adelaide Botanical Gardens. 
  • Bus: numbers 271 and 273 stop on Frome Road opposite Adelaide Zoo. 
  • Bike: there are free bike racks which are within the entry precinct and the best routes are in Torrens Linear Park and cycle parks along the major roads. 
  • Boat: you can take a privately owned recreational ferry which is located on the River Torrens between Elder Park and Adelaide Zoo. Please call 08 8232 7994 for more information.

Access

Getting there

If you are travelling by car to Adelaide Zoo, then you can use one of the zoo’s disabled parking spaces to number 4 and 10 hour parking spaces. 

Getting Around

Adelaide Zoo is highly accessible for people with wheelchairs and it is easy to get around the park. However, there is a staircase within the zoo and the site has retained many of its original features so please consult the map to check where this is. 

Concession Prices

There are also a number of concession prices for access customers, including the Zoo SA Government issued carer and companion card, which offers free entry for a carer accompanying an access customer. 

Wheelchair Hire

You can hire wheelchairs for $15, which is part of a $10 deposit. Please book your wheelchairs in advance on 08 8267 3255. 

Service Animals

Due to the new federal quarantine restrictions, assistance animals cannot be brought onsite however assistance dogs can be provided. 

There are several accessible toilets available throughout the park.
