About

Home to an array of fascinating animals such as koalas, lorikeets, kangaroos, crocodiles, dingoes and tasmanian devils, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary nurtures and cares for its creatures with its inspiring and impressive wildlife hospital and conservation projects!

Established in 1947, the sanctuary boasts a rich history of conservation and educational work, offering its visitors an unforgettable opportunity to encounter iconic Australian animals in a natural setting. The park is located in an idyllic ground of eucalyptus rainforests, creating a wonderful place to enjoy a day with the family. Besides their amazing ecosystems, the park also offers an incredible amount of experiences such as encounters with animals like koalas, nocturnal visits and even a treetop challenge for adrenaline junkies.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is undoubtedly the perfect place to spend an unforgettable day with your family, while enjoying and learning about your favourite animals.

Animals

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary cares for countless incredible creatures and you can meet them up close through their experiences and encounters. Here are some of the park’s most iconic animals:

Koalas

These cuddly mammals are a must-see whilst visiting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to over 50 of these friendly creatures. Koalas need up to 20 hours of sleep per day due to their eucalyptus leaves diet, so you may catch them having a snooze!

Kangaroos & Wallabies

Undoubtedly two of Australia’s most iconic creatures, Kangaroos and Wallabies are roaming around the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Discover majestic kangaroos bouncing around on the red dirt landscape and meet friendly wallabies in the Wallaby encounter enclosure!

Crocodiles

You’ve seen them in the movies - but have you ever met a croc up close? At Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, you can get close to the sanctuary’s resident Saltwater Crocodile, Boss Hogg who reaches nearly 5 meters in length and 800 kilograms!

Tasmanian Devils

Unlike the famous cartoon, Tasmanian devils are much more shy creatures in real life and are known for scavenging dead animals instead of killing their own prey. As part of a conservation project, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has bred 9 tasmanian devils.
