Divided into nine interactive exhibits, at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium you will encounter some of the world's most incredible animals, including the beautiful dugong, huge sharks, massive sawfish, mysterious rays, jellyfish, penguins and much, much more. But Sea Life Sydney doesn't stop there. The enclosure also offers daily talks to learn about the care of dugongs, penguins or even the Great Barrier Reef. In addition, there are multiple unforgettable experiences such as swimming with sharks or enjoying a trip through the ocean using Virtual Reality.

Exhibits

Day and Night on the Reef

In this exhibit, you will be able to experience the iconic wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Set entirely on the Reef as it transitions through day and night, life on the reef is recreated for guests to encounter & experience, across 24 hours of the day.

Penguin Expedition

Meet some of the most adorable animals in Sea Life Sydney and get up close to the colony of King and Gentoo penguins. There is even an exclusive Penguin Boat Ride available to get even closer to them.

Shark Valley

Explore the depths of Shark Valley while you encounter some of the biggest sharks in the world, such as the Grey Nurse Sharks

Dugong Island

In this area you will be able to see the beautiful dugong, one of the most unique species in the world. Dugong Island is also home to other amazing animals, such as white-spotted eagle rays and bamboo sharks.

Discovery Rockpool

The most interactive area of the park, where you can meet one of our experts who will allow you to see and touch starfish, shark eggs, shells and much more.

South Coast Shipwreck

In a unique space full of shipwrecks, visitors can discover a great variety of animals native to the southern oceans, such as the colony of Little Penguins.

Sydney Harbour

Here, between the piers on stilts and the platforms, the public can enjoy animals indigenous to one of the most emblematic ports in the world.

Jurassic Seas

The last exhibit will take you deep under the ocean to see where life began and to meet some wonderful living fossils.

How To Get There

There are multiple options to get to Sea Life Sydney, we recommend the next:

  • Car: there are several car parks close to Sea Life Sydney. However, there is not a car park on site. 
  • Ferry: public ferry services to Darling Harbour depart from Circular Quay Wharf 5 about every half an hour.
  • Train: you can walk to Sea Life Sydney from Wynard or Town Hall stations. Head for King Street and then walk west down the hill towards Darling Harbour.  
  • Bus: you can also take the Big Bus Sydney and get off at the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium Stop.

Sea Life Sydney is committed to making the experience accessible to all guests and it is fully wheelchair accessible throughout the aquarium. However, please note that some of the ground may be uneven at teams.

Wheelchairs are available to borrow. However, please note that these are reserve on a first come, first serve basis.
